You know, people like to side with winners.  Magnus is probably the greatest of all time, and if true, that will be pretty much indisputable if he wins the next WCC.

So Magnus is, to 949, only second to Capa, then Fischer, then maybe Alekhine ( he gets extra points for having a name that’s hard to pronounce).

alekhine, it feels sooo satisfying..,.

The mechanical Turk. Coincidentally also my favourite dance move. Move aside Travolta.

FISHER gave you the first world title, and brought forth, a MODERN game

what I tried to point out was, the game became mainstream , and people understood eveybody could play. A whole generation started to play turning it  into a modern game, witch I was part of

But, I don’t have any bad things to say about any of the greats.  They are, and were, all pretty good guys. Even Fischer.

Are you sure about that?

This thread is about chess.  When Fischer was immersed in the chess world phenomenon, he was still a pretty good guy, although becoming weird.  What you are probably thinking regarding the history of chess.. didn’t come along until much later... after Fischer was out of the mainstream of competitive chess.

H. N. Pilsbury by far. If he didn't die early, he would've became WC in my opinion. And he would've been much more famous than he is now.

Strangemover

Too fond of Russian hookers...
