National Master is possible to achieve in most large countries, the rules for getting NM can be different for different countries, so it may not be worth much.
Candidate Master is anyone who has achieved an ELO rating above 2200.

NM for US is USCF 2200.
CM is both a national and a FIDE title.
the fide title is 2200 Fide I think.

I am often asking me what a national Master is. What rating do you need to get this title, is it only in USA and what exactly does it mean? Allso what is a CM? ( I sometimes hear this too).
