Nearly all my tactics books and my Beginner CT-arts( and other) tactics training programs focus on "Mate in One" or "Get a Rook in two" or all other such training to help me spot tactics OFFENSIVELY. That's fine.
But what I want is one that helps me spot the "evil lurking...", the things that are coming at me that I don't see, the "things that go bump in the night," the "mate in one" coming at ME.
I'm trying to learning to be aggressive and these tactics books/programs do help with that.
The only book I have that dwells on the horrible unknown coming at you is Dan Heisman's "Looking for Trouble." But right now it is just too involved for me. All my tactics books have a one or two move offensive diagram. Is there any tactics book that has a one or two or three DEFENSIVE diagram to work through?
