It is my understanding that you get a FIDE rating only if
1. being registered with a FIDE-affiliated national federation (e.g. via being a member of an national federation affiliated OTB club) and
2. participate in FIDE-rated OTB tournaments.

Mr TOMHAEGIN, thanks for the reply , my question is - i need fide rated player to get experience, i couldnt participate much tournament, but i expect some players here to play , but the reted players are not like to play standard games, mostly blitz!!! what to do?
Hi, you could join one of the long time controls group on here. Like the world standard time control group or the other Aww rats group or Heisman groups, as you are correct this site is mostly a blitz platform. Joining one of these groups is probably your best chance of getting a game of any decent time.
Joining Aww-rats or DHLC group (Dan Heisman) for long games here is definitely a good option. I played in there as well. Now that I have joined an OTB club, I play my longer games at the club and sometimes go to a tourney.
Sharfudeen, if you have the option of joining a club where you can play people face-to-face, I would strongly recommend to consider that. The live game has still a slightly different feel than an internet live-game. For practice it does not matter if your opponents have a (FIDE) rating or not.
dear friends, i would like to take fide rating and my aim is not much, just need to take more than 1800 Elo !! the question is i dont get much fide rated friends for "standard games", i dont have time to participate much tournament to get experience.. i believe to get that experience from chess.com kind of sites, but here, rated players are like to play mostly blitz kind of games., what to do to get rating tournament game experience in this kins of sites?
