Its a old way of ranking go player from china I'm just trying to compare it to chess.
Need help with understanding this ranking system ?
1 you start appreciating the game
2 you start seeing basic patterns
3 you have an aspect of the game that you're strong at
4 you view the game deeper
5 you start calculating vigorously
6 you often win with nice tactics
7 you browbeat your opponents with forcing moves
8 you play seemingly stupid yet strong moves
9 you play in a calm, detached way and do not lay emphasis on small tricks.
Actually, its difficult to translate the last two levels, they show a Taoism way of thinking, that the ultimate state is when you are completely detached and unknowing. Hope this helps, but please don't take it too seriously. The ancient Chinese employ much philosophy on the game of Go.

I dont quite get much about this ranking system I found and wanted to learn more about it. Hate to ask this but could someone dumb this down for me ?
