Nerve problems when playing live

For I am getting overly stressed when playing live, even by playin 30 mins I changed now to play vs. computer. I feel relaxed by playing online or against machine. It has something to do with some kind of trauma/disease I do not want to get more into it. I like chess very much and want to become better - but not in the sense of ratings which does not interest me (and puts also stress on me.)

Is ist then of any use to play against machine ? Or is it better then to quit chess completely.

Just play "online" then and avoid live.  Chess is just a game, for enjoyment just like every other game...so enjoy it.

You could also try playing unrated games live and see how that affects your nerves.
