About Scholars mate -- the 4 move mate
1)don't play the 4-move checkmate. It works fine against weaker players, but you learn nothing! And you won't do as well against people who know how to counter it.
2)learn how to stop it, if you don't all ready.
3) learn basic openings and opening principles and apply them to your games
Well this is from the point of view of Black. Firstb instead of 1.e4 go 1.e6 it protects from them doing it to you.And Instead of moving your queen to H5 move it to F3 because it is harder to notice and it works just as well.
