I remember that! Poor Anatoly, that was a no-win situation. Karpov offered Misha a draw (even though the kid was lost), but Misha refused. Karpov would look bad either way. I know someone who has worked with Karpov. He has a reputation as one of the nicer players.
This little guy is under most radars now, but I think we'll be hearing about him in the near future. His name is L. Tyrtyshnikov and he has a lot of positional maturity and tactical skills for his age. Watch for the QxN!! at 5:35.
