New players playing uncommon openings

I noticed that when a new article comes out about an opening, I usually end up having to play against them in live games against low rated players (1000-1300). Yet, they end up losing the game. As much as I did not prepare myself against these openings, however, they end up losing due to bad positioning and lack of foresight, such as this for example

So what do you think of lower rated players playing uncommon openings against others? Also if any of you can help me analyse my game, please do so. Thanks.

The Caro Kann is hardly an uncommon opening. Look at the game explorer. 1..c6  is the 4th most popular reply. 80% of the games then continue 2 d4 d5. If e4 is your "best opening", you had better read some articles on the Caro Kann yourself.

Your opponent didn't lose because of his opening. Neither did he lose because of "bad positioning". He lost because he overlooked your blunder that should have gotten you mated and then gave up a piece for nothing. (I guess you could say that was lack of foresight-- but you were just as guilty.)

Here is a game between masters in the very line you played:

Did you know that you were offering a gambit with 5 Bd2? The game seems somewhat unusual to me because it is played all the way out well past the point where most players resign-- all the way to mate.

Thanks man, I guess it's just because of blunders by both me and the opponent than.
