new system

today the opening thory is very developed.there are more book son openings than on any other aspect of chess. So as a 1600 rated player i also searched for opening books of my choice. Then i saw a book named the beginner's game here:

http://www.beginnersgame.com/

.... this is book of completely new opening system known as B system. I thought it would be good so i downloaded the book ( it can be downloaded free on the website). then after having a glance at the opening i thought this is very very very poor opening but after i checked it with rybka 4 and houdini i found that its good !

i am not sure whether this opening is good for me or not. There are many fake books which claim to improve your chess. the same claim is in that book. \

but the good point of this opening is that, there is no need to memorise any thing ! i liked this idea. i would like you to give it a try and give comments.

this is not an advertisement, neither i am true supporter of this opening, so just give it a try! the book on pdf form is free and of high quality.

The site looks like a hastily thrown together scam designed by a person working out of "Website Design for Dummies."

Also, the claim that a 'completely' new system can just magically appear in the midst of hundreds of years of established theory is rather far fetched.

may be u r right. but this book is worth reading. i had difficulty selecting my opening but this book solved my problem.

Took a quick look.

Recommends the hippo as both black and white.  Nothing new in this, and will lead to many quick slaughters as newbs who haven't got the faintest clue how to handle these positions end up in ultra-passive time-to-get-slaughtered mode.

I have a copy of each of "Pafu's" books;  "The Beginner's Game," "The Center Game," and "The Defense Game."

Here are the basic setups:

Beginner's Game: ...g6, ...Bg7, ...b6, ...Bb7, ...d6, ...Nd7, ...e6, ...Ne7.

Center Game:  ...a6, ...h6, ...d6, ...Bd7, ...e6, ...Be7.

Defense Game:  ...d6, ...Nd7, ...e6, ...Ne7, ...Ng6.

I've had mediocre results with these openings in blitz games.  Even though the move orders will vary depending on your opponent's moves, the basic setups are almost always achievable.  Pafu also recommends these openings when you're playing White.

I think the other two books can't be downloaded and also are not on amazon. But i liked the basic setup of beginner's game... I liked that way it is played.... still i would be Happy if u would give a few comments.

The mentioned setup (usually known as the hippo setup) requires a great amount of strategical understanding and is strongly not advised for people under 2000 elo. B has to be extremely flexible and adjust his plan according to W moves. Don't get me wrong, this is a fascinating setup but possibly the most difficult opening to play in the whole game.

In fact the setup is quite popular among amateurs, but usually leads to early disasters and total passivity. You don't need theory to play this way but you have to really know what you're doing.

Finally, it's not true that this can be played against everything, since against e4f4 setups this plan is too slow and B is usually slaughtered (with an f4-f5 push) before he manages to complete development.

This is an interesting article on the hippo. Do you feel capable of playing as B did in these games? http://www.kenilworthchessclub.org/games/java/2008/classical-hippo.htm

Thanks For the comment and the article ... To prove the validity of this new system, I Created an engine match OF Rybka 4 vs. Rybka 4 and Houdini Vs Houdini , And found the wins and draws much higher than Loses ...

kamikaz80

Im new in chess ,and i  read this Book very well and it did improved my playing .most of the People here dont understand that this Book is talking about a Family(a Family with THOUSANDS of members) of Openings called the B-System Opening only ONE member of this family is known as the "Hippo" or  "The Beginners Game "as Pafu names it .Now if u find the hippo passive this doesnt mean that the B-System is passive u can play another B-System openings which are much stronger than the "hippo"....The very interesting thing about the B-Openings is that u dont have to memorize openings u have to only learn the rules of the B-System openings ,if u know the rules u can generate thousands of B-Openings

Would be great to know the opinion from someone that's 2000+ elo (OTB, not chess.com).

I HAVE TRIED IT  actually  with black  i  play nothing more than this  openong its  is   simply   MAGIC

you  can  play 14  moves  in the opening  without   having  care  of  what  opponents plays  its   plays on the  sides  not  the center  and   by  using  pishops  and  opponents  can  hardly   bomb   open the  center  due to  blacks   strange  hedhog  control of the center   black  can really and ammazingly    block  up the  center   whenever  he  wants!!   any  way   i M   CURRENTLY  rates 1530  blitz  and  reached  over 1570  have not   the lag   stopped me  from  climbing and  lost many games   due to connection   problems    just  watch  my game  as  black  i have  done  well with this opening

Your wish has been answered. This is garbage. You want to get better at chess? Learn good principles, including for how to play the opening. Develop pieces, fight for the center. Don't be so scared of learning any theory that you start playing trash like ...d6, d6, a6, h6, resigns.

And why would you trust the authority of some guy who calls himself "Pafu"? Would you trust your health to a doctor named "Pafu"? Or let a lawyer who calls himself "Pafu" take your case? How about a real name, buddy? And some qualifications?

pafu bothi is his real name

This is the formula
This is the way
This is the passage
To make each day.

One is infinity
Complete and Serene
It never was touched
Troubled or stained.

Equal means same as
And also the means
One exists in the other
Like rivers in streams.

Zero is for ego
Ignorance at end
Does not exist and
Never existed.

One equals zero
When this is known
The eagle inside you
Starts flying home.

King Magnus could play this opening and win.  But we're not Magnus.  Or a Computer Engine.
