No confirm move option on this website?!

Sorry but what is this garbage?! Why is there the option in the app but not the goddamn website? What a horrible usability choice, horrible. Just threw away my queen due to this. This has to be a joke. And it happens to many people as well.

I agree, need an option for confirmation.

Where is the option then
AMC1991

Personally I don't think there should be a confirm move option on the app or the website. You can't take your piece back OTB once you release the piece from your hand so why should you be able to do it online? But yes, if it is available on the app then it should be available on the website otherwise the player on the app has an advantage.

Touch screen phones are small and some of us have big hands so a "confirm move" option should always be available.

MrIndia

There used to be this option before.

Anyways, why don't you enable it on app and then play on site. It won't turn off I guess

Very silly reply, ever heard of "clock moves"? We arent playing under tournament conditions here, by your logic merely clicking on a piece on your pc would force you to play that piece because "it's touch move just like in real life".

No argument

How would that work? It does not obviously, the app is on an android/iOS device, not interconnected with your desktop PC.

Not quite as silly as quoting your own reply...

Again, a pointless reply. Some of us might be bad with a mouse, a screen is no different, in fact it is even less natural than using one's fingers because you're going through a third party object, removing yourself from the action one more step.

Typical brit, insular thinking, small-minded and laughable all around. Not everyone on this website spends the better part of their days on this forum with 2003 User interface.

Please refrain from further commenting as you clearly only want to pester people.

I agree that it would be a good feature. Mouse slips are similar to a piece slipping out of your hand as you move it. We all do it OTB, and it would be nice to have a similar ability to quickly correct a slip.

If part of argument against it is that it could be abused, then one could impose time limits. For example, the replacement move has to be made within a couple seconds, or else the original move is submitted. That way, no one can make a move just to see how it looks as they analyze further.

Even that argument does not make a lot of sense because this very website has an app that allows you to do just that. It even plays the mate sound before you confirm your move, meaning that the app takes away that part.

preetham1910

i feel like it should be in settings bc if you are in bullet and confirm move takes some time that would be sad.honestly though i am not sure about bullet since i never play app or bullet.

In the app it's optional

Bumvinnik

Not only did you fail to realize I was agreeing with you about the "confirm move" option but you're also a mouthy prat whose rating is pathetic.

My original comment was polite and I merely gave my opinion on the subject matter. I got snotty when you made a snotty reply. Then your response was xenophobic abuse and you have crossed the line. Reported.

I bet you started out with your rating and your paid account. You are a joke, ad hominem response just because I didnt agree with you, pathetic person, pathetic comment. Take your nonsense someplace else you Leafblower.

I have never used the app, am only speaking from personal XP on the website.  I had mouse slip ups when I would drag/drop a piece... sometimes the mouse would drop before I got it to the square I wanted.  Cost me a game or two at least, truly annoying to lose that way. Then I realized you can click on the piece you are going to move, and then click on the square you want to move to.  No drag/drop.  It's pretty difficult to screw up that way (as opposed to dragging/dropping), since then I don't think I have had any issues moving a piece to a different square than I intended.  Not entering into the discussion about a confirm option, only saying that if your reason for frustration is the same as mine was, this might help if not solve your issue.
