I usually think 5 rounds is too short for a swiss tournament to get the right winner. I don't think we have any 5 round swiss events in the Netherlands.

Chess in Europe and chess in the USA is very different. Most Americans cannot play in 9 and 10 round events, especially in a one round a day schedule, which is popular in Europe.
Is this the biggest/strongest 5 round swiss event in the US ?!
The organizers are striving to make this the biggest annual 5 round weekend swiss event in the Southeast, and maybe in the entire USA .
The 4th round starts in a few hours and the average rating of the top ten in the open section is a whopping 2575 ! There are 6 GMs playing with 4 of them over 2600 ( uscf ) !
