notebook on a chess tournament

what if i have a note in my pocket saying "undefended pieces, king safety, color complexes" - just reminders what to concentrate on during the game, and i look at it when im up walking during my opponents move?

I can only speak as a former US Chess Federation Tournament Director, but I'm sure the TD's or Arbiters in other countries follow the same rules: if I saw you look at the note "undefended pieces, king safety, color complexes" it's the same as looking in a book to get information about the game: both mean I have to rule that you lost the game. If it's just that reminding piece of paper, I would not throw you out of the tournament or make an adverse report on you to USCF. But that paper would cost you the game.
I suggest that something that simple can be memorized and you can remind yourself to consider it during a game as easily as you could have reminded yourself to look at the paper.
Hey guys, i've never played in OTB tournaments before. I know its not allowed to bring electronic devices such as phones, laptops etc. into the playing hall. What about a notebook with a pen, or a simple piece of paper? do players get their pockets checked for little pieces of paper that might contain opening lines or move lists?
