Hello,

I recently won a game... but my opponent made a huge blunder while in the position that will follow. I wanted to know... how would you assess the following position? It's White to play and win... is it possible for White to win here?

d5 its the only move that give some hope at the white. else its quite crewed...

Black can avoid the the forced checkmate playing 1. .. Rhf8 or Rbd8 (Rd7 after Qxa7+). There's no need to take d4. Needs to be more analysied.

My oh my... that would certainly have put me in a sticky situation. Nice find! With regards to my possible responses set out my MartinJaeggi, I suppose they could work, but they would have stalled the attacks I had in mind, which would have been disastrous, since I was running into time trouble (7 minutes left on my clock compared to 19 for white). But, both of you have been helpful. Thanks :)
