By the way, how in the world there is not a chess survey on Chess.com about who will win?!?! I mean, this is the holy grail of surveys!

MrDamonSmith

Really. You would think a survey about anand-carlsen outcome would be front center as soon as anyone logs on.

Not sure if posted already but the live commentators have now been announced... Lawrence Trent and Susan Polgar.

taffy76

Not nervous but definitely counting down the days, searching the net every morning just in case a new article is written, that sort of thing...

Good news, I really like Susan and they worked well at the World Cup.

MrDamonSmith

I imagine they'll have guests assisting in the commentary. It would be good to see elite players like Kasparov, Karpov, Kramnik, etc. make pit stops in the commentary room.

ChessAcademyHQ

Good news. I liked them :)

MrDamonSmith

I vote for Daniel Tapia to be a commentator for the match, it would really liven it up.

Nope, I can't paste that frame here, somehow I'm unable to do the things I could do before. This must have came up because of the daily puzzle comment hacks.

The games of the WC Championship between Carlsen and Anand will be played in India, which is 10 hours ahead of the United States, where I currently live.

That means that the results of the game will be over by the time I wake up.

I'd like to watch the re-broadcast of the livestream of the games without knowing who won the game, which would be a spoiler.

Any ideas how I can do this?

Can't wait to see Carlsen grind out endgames so that Anand won't get his draw that he wanted

Whoops - I am not supposed to be biased much!

I don't know if I'll be able to do it, but I'm going to try really hard to watch them all live (starting at 2:30 AM localtime). 5:30 AM would be a luxury, as I'd only have to get up 2 hours earlier than normal.

There are plans to telecast the games live on internet as well. It is the first time World Chess Championship is taking place in India, and is a big event here. So if you look for DD sports (Indian) youtube channel, or look for some Norwegian channels on youtube, I am sure you can find a deferred broadcast online.

However, for all the marketing, I doubt you will be able to watch the videos of the games without stumbling upon the results first.

You could avoid all that by waking up just a little early, provided you are on the east coast. 3 PM India time would mean 5:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.

To make it a bit easier for you, I will also look for some deferred broadcasts online, and if I find any that's suitable for you, I will message you the link right away. Although I suppose there must be some channels there that may be in talks with the Indian channels to broadcast the event.

Thanks, but you sent me a link to something that updates you on moves as they happen.  That is exactly what I don't want to do, since all the moves will be over by the time I've woken up in the morning.

Don't worry about it, I'll just click on the livestream and try to avoid looking at the result somehow.

Huh I can't embed html code either.

Lucky to be here in Sydney for sure, WC games start at 8.30pm AEDT. Enough time to get home from the office, have dinner, sneak a glass of bourban while the wife isn't watching, play a few blitz games... then watch the drama unfold Smile
