Love it if you could develop a virtual timer that will work with the custom puzzles on chess.com. every other section has an on-screen timer, the puzzle rush for instance ... but there is not even an option to display one, for the custom puzzles. Obviously I could keep track with a real-world timer, but I would have to manually operate it and given the number of puzzles I work on daily, it just wouldn't be worth it. Just looking for something simple that will operate automatically with the chess.com application.

Thank you.
I think I may have found a bug. When using Bronstein method, if you pause the clock, resume the clock, and switch players it adds another 2 seconds to the original player's clock. For example, if you have a 5 min clock with 10 second bonus, and you pause, resume, and switch players before the first ten seconds have run out, the clock will start at 5:02 for that player's next turn, rather than the maximum 5 minutes allowed for the game. Not a huge issue, but just thought I'd see if that could be fixed.
Update: decided to just keep playing rapid, rated 45 min and using an app for in-person games.
What timer or solution would you suggest for playing on chess.com (with takebacks allowed) with a self-imposed time limit (ie. we would like 45 mins per player)?
In this use case, the best current solution seem to be using a browser or mobile/app based timer such as the wonderful chessclock.org.
The reason a timer is needed, is because we want to play with takebacks on, but without allowing a whole day per move.
The drawback is that only one person can see and control the timer. I could stream the timer (e.g. via Discord) but I wondered if anyone else had come across this problem and found a solution?
The main problem is having to use a separate timer if we want to allow takebacks and have a game that is shorter than daily, as well only 1 person being able to see the timer, esp. if sharing a screen/window will over-complicate the game.
Both players could run separate timers, which would have pros and cons, but maybe there are more elegant solutions.
The chess clock.org is great really, but I think you should add a wider key range on computer bacause i keep mishitting
Hi,
Thanks for the comments!
I've just released a new version. As suggested, I've added an option to use spacebar to switch clock between players.
All settings are also preserved across games.
Hope you enjoy.
Incredible clock😌
