I like online chess because I can take extra time to think in complex positions. Plus can't have disconnect losses!
Online Chess or Live Chess?
I like online because I can play at my convenience, whenever I have a few minutes. I find that I learn a lot more from my online games because I can really study the positions, sometimes for an hour or more if it's really complex. It's always possible someone will cheat, but I've played almost 50 games and I've never even suspected that my opponent was cheating.

I usually play both, each have their pros and cons. Live chess is more about visualization and intuition since there is no analysis board. Online chess on the other hand is more about accuracy, you have to try and find the best move since your opponent can use the analysis board and you need to assume that he'll find flaws in your plan if they exist.

I think for learning that online chess is the best as you can take the time to study the board and work through different scenarios. For me this is a good way to develop my skills and enhance my understanding of it.
Live chess on the other hand is a way to hone and sharpen the skills you've developed. It is more intuitive as you do not have the time to dwell or study the situation.
While I do mostly online chess because of my time constraints and job I feel that live chess is a more accurate portray of ones ability then online chess is.
But like mentioned before, both have their pros & cons and both can be entertaining and educational.
There are many people on chess.com, where some play just online chess, and some play just live chess. There are also the people who play both live chess and online chess. But, which one do you think is better, online chess or live chess? What is the difference between the two that makes one stand out over the other? Comment on this forum telling us your answer and why.
