Pros:
1. One can play against players local and international
2. Moves can be automatically saved as a PGN for later analysis and anotation.
Cons:
1. More and more I'm starting to realize that some losses shouldn't be taken to hard, since unseen opponnents can cheat with chess engines or use a board with pieces to figure best mates forcing combinations.
2. On sites such as chess.com and IRC chess the board is 2 dimensional compared to live games which are 3 dimensional. One can play well online but poorly during live games.
