I wouldnt see the issue, I do the same thing, no different than using the Analyze option in a game to bring a additional board up. Now in OTB game...well that would be sort of wierd ya know.
Online chess question.

Tactical Knightmare, when you refer to OTB games do you mean live chess or just face to face? I ask this because I am a bit of a newbie to studying chess rather than just knowing how the pieces move and a newbie to internet chess, I have played live chess (usually 20 or 30 min games) but not set the board up at home because of the short time constraints, although I have pretty much given up live chess because i make stupid errors "because" of the time constraints.
Is it considered cheating or "bad form" to set up a board whilst playing online chess? I have noticed a lot of opponents I have played play several online games at once but I like to just play one but have it set up on my board at home to go through moves and outcomes, just wondered if this was ok or not?
