Opponent is very much in a loosing position and refusing to resign and moving once a day

My opponent only has two pawns left, both blocked by my pawns and his own king. I still have an extra pawn that can easily promote to a queen, and I also have a bishop. Knowing his chances of winning are very slim, my opponent has admitted in our chat that he’s deliberately dragging the game out by making just one move per day instead of resigning.

In other words, he’s intentionally prolonging the match even though the outcome is essentially decided. Is there anything that can be done about this?

He was even cheaky enough to suggest we start a second match...

No. You are less than two weeks into the game. With 39 moves played to date, there is really nothing to complain about.

Those 3-day games can easily go on for half a year or longer.

Theyare just thinking you might make a mistake which is fine.

LOL. Why do you accept a 3-day game if you can’t wait just 1 day?

Just start another game with someone else during this time.

Besides, since you and your opponent are around 800-ish elo, anything can happen.

You agreed to the game. Stop complaining and finish the game. Your opponent is not obligated to resign because you want them to.
