Go to explorer and try out the best winning moves to get a good opening then revise tactics and puzzle for your mid game and endgame

Depends on what you mean by "prepare" and what type of OTB tournament.

What section will you be playing in?

How many days is the tournament?

"Preparing" means one thing if you are a titled player preparing for a big tournament, and something quite different if you are preparing for your first OTB tournament. That's you! The best things you can do are to get used to playing a bit slower, and do become accustomed to keeping a score sheet. This isn't very hard, but if you play a few games in advance where you keep a score, you will be more comfortable when you have to do it for real. And I guess you should practice remembering to press your clock after you move. Forgetting to press your clock is a common mistake for beginners--and I still make it every once in a while.

I wouldn't bother trying to do any special studying. Just relax, don't move too fast, and be prepared to concentrate a little harder than you're used to, for a little longer than you're used to. OTB tournament chess is very demanding, but much more fun

OP...I took a look at your profile, and it looks like you just picked up chess recently.  So your preparation should be simple.

1. Get a good nights sleep.

2. Warm up your brain in the morning by doing some tactics.

3. Eat a light breakfast.  Stay away from energy drinks.

4. Stay hydrated with water, and if you want more than that then stick with sugar free sports drinks.

5. Get used to playing with a clock, longer time controls, and writing down your moves.

6. Walk around!  Get up and let the blood flow every once in awhile.

7. SIT ON YOUR HANDS.  This one simple piece of advice will help you cut down on your blunders.

8. Have Fun!

As stupid as this sounds a female titled player I won’t name repeatedly took bathroom breaks and it turns out she had access to an engine soooo…. he has a valid point lol.

I went to the bathroom in an OTB and tournament director told me to empty pockets and went with me

One more thing: Turn your phone off and put it somewhere out of reach. Don't take it with you to the bathroom
