I suspect that 75...h2:g1N does also win (the knight may go to b3 (Ng1-f3-d4-b3) and drive off the white king from a1)

Somebody mated me with 4 bishops once, I guess it was just so they could say 'I mated someone with 4 bishops!'

Solve this riddle?

There's also this position, or one very similar to it...

Look at the position two diagrams above. The answer:

twoknights vs a lone king is a mere draw, while a bishop and a knight is a hard mate but easy if you know the  technique.

Avatar of solskytz

Not if the player with both knights is playing against King and pawn. If the pawn can be blockaded by a knight when it's far enough from the queening square, a win is possible. Just don't ask me how.

This is easy.Just Criss-cross your bishops and then mate the king

The  king is not in front of the pawn,so its a mere draw.

<RobertJames Perez> Starting from move 6 in the variation in your post there is a forced win for black. Check it in a good tablebase, you will see...

I went here - http://chessok.com/?page_id=361 - and this is what I got (I inverted the position):
