People accusing you of cheating

Sort:

Why is it that some disgruntled players when losing lash out with the accusation of cheat. I do not know how it is even possible to cheat in a 3 minute blitz game. This accusation really infuriates me...and despite no evidence they keep calling you cheat and claim to "just know". Unfounded allegations perpetuated by these chess trolls should be monitored and penalised

chessdex

you have to out-troll him

Maybe you don't know how it's possible to cheat in blitz - but I assure you, as a programmer, that it is possible.

If the accusations are unfounded, then they are high compliments. If they're not, you shouldn't be offended.

chessdex

troll him back

"Unfounded allegations perpetuated by these chess trolls should be monitored and penalised."

That seems highly impractical... I think people should be able to say whatever they want, although I can understand why you might want to filter "swear words" given that there are kids on here and what not. If you don't like what someone is saying, mute them or disable chat.

I only play online blitz here after I've drunk some and smoked some and I have been accused of using a computer.  I figure that if they're serious then they've only played some real crap computers.

chessdex

dude, troll him backk, it's that simple, have some fun in watching him blow up because he thinks he is the best

Fair enough Chess dex...that's what i sometimes do...or you can disable chat as infinite regress said

chessdex

sure, either one works

trentthechessnut

I must admit Berningfast, I tend to say nothing when playing online but I do ove a good troll war if my opponent starts it! Have not found it much on chess.com but I used to go to Yahoo chess for just that! hehe.

The problem is that you could get banned.

I don´t know if saying "he did it first" would be a good defense.

chessdex

no, don't insult him, do something moderate

Yeah, here is an example:

Ubik42

Just respond with "umadbro?"

kosmokid

Hmmm .... I'm extremely puzzled.
I didn't know one could cheat playing chess on a computer.
When I make a move that is illegal the computer does not allow it.
Soooo ..... how does one cheat playing chess on a computer?

@friedrich2

you could run a chess engine (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_engine)

in the background or on another computer, input your opponents

move into it, and play the engine's move on chess.com

this tactic can also be used when playing strong players in a simul

Can you stop spamming the forums please?

And back to the point, I've only ever accused someone of cheating once, after their performance in a game suddenly became godlike. Never been accused of cheating, as I'm not a good player, but just say "Whatever" and disable the chat, there's not much more you can do and he'll get butthurt, which is a triumph to you.

Gillywibble

Some players accuse you of cheating even though you blundered badly.

I usually reply just 'lol'. I also get accused of time cheating, as though they've never heard of lag.

90% of the players on here are immature, aggressive and very, very bad losers.

madhacker

Disable chat, that shuts them up.
