People that win on time by doing repetative moves

Hi chess.com. Do you think that people ruin the fun out of blitz 1 minute chess when they just do repetative moves until the timer runs out.  For example, some people just move their queens or bishops to different places but kill nothing or are just moving anywhere.

Not really.

If you are unable to capitalize on stupidity like repeating moves/losing tempo early on in the game, it serves you right to lose this way ... and it sure is fun for him.

Any decent player would pick up on this behavior in a few seconds and spend the next few seconds with a Bc4 + Qh5 "schoolboy mate the bastard" attacking idea .. or anything else these free tempos would now allow him.

Repeating moves like that in the opening  just gives your opponent a great opportunity to get ahead in development and get a winning position.

In a situation where you've developed but can't see any good attacking or defensive moves to make and are just worried your weakening your position then some repetition may actually work. Could be better than wasting time trying to find a better move.

If you want the position on the board to matter... rather than just the times on the clocks... then play longer games.

tough, I think you may be referring to the rules of blitz.  I think I agree and that is a good reason to play regular time controls

I have played  a lot of blitz, with the goal to refine my openings. I tried 5 minutes, but I man to slow to both examine my opponetns moves and make my own play, so I switched to ten-minute blitz, which workes well for me, but the last month its been almost 3day/move online only.

Different players like different speed.

Scottrf, you just made move 8 in this thread. Move 8 in three years, that gives perspective to blitzgames.
