Peripheral vision playing chess

Greetings! I was just wondering how many or if anyone at all uses their peripheral vision when playing bullet, blitz chess? I have found that I instinctively use it to play faster.

I don't have peripheral vision. I have to constantly remind myself to stay googly-eyed and scan all around the edges before each move so I don't go blind.

I'm being totally serious.

Yeah, I used to do this on Yahoo chess many years ago in 1 or 2 minute games. Stare at the center and move using peripheral vision.

One thing that encouraged this IMO was no premove back in those days. So reaction time was important.

The best way to calculate is with non-verbal, peripheral vision. During calculation there should be no words spoken in your head. Think with out words. All professional players are calculating ONLY with peripheral vision, they see the entire board at the same time, they do NOT zoom into one spot or stare at a piece.
