I just followed Leela’s development closely over the last couple of years. I suck at chess, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know a lot about it. It was recommended as therapy for me when I was a child... buddy.

It's not a novel idea in the sense that it's been played before.
But it's still very exciting and fun to watch.
Pushing the h-pawn is a double edged sword: it makes it difficult for you to Castle kingside, but it also creates a fast attack against your opponent's castled king. This makes the game very entertaining to watch.
I like the new changes. 
I would have been okay with it if they had moved my rating over to "rapid" with all of my game history, but they didn't. So I happened to lose two games in a row and I dropped 200+ points. Really pissed me off.

That's a dumb comment. Of course, anyone can play a bunch of games again to get that rating back. It still sucks that I have to spend a bunch of time doing that because they moved over the rating without the games played so that each of the first few games counted for hundreds of points.
They made a mistake and didn't think things through.
