pin day

Tin

Hello all. Can anyone tell me how to avoid the bishop pin about the 2nd move in. It is greatly annoying and i have lost 6 in a row because of that pin. I am pretty frustrated since it's impossible to defend. White can throw all his units in it while I am cramped trying to get units over. does anyone have a suggestion. I've tried getting that h3 or a3 pawn in but it's usually one move behind. I have also been black those games.

allow the pin. avoid h3 and a3 like the plague. Those moves weaken your position and will cause more defeats than the pin will

@aww-rats: are there any good online references you could give that demonstrate how to take advantage of the h3 or a3 weakness?

I've always heard it creates a weakness, and try to avoid it when I can. But I've never really understood how to take advantage of it.

I think it creates a breaking point. It could be possible to advance a pawn to, say, g4, or even sac a piece against h3 in order to expose the castled king.

LearnHard, I would recommend you to check out his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/BobbyJFischer1943/featured .

In the teammatch series you will find plenty of games where players play the early a3 and h3. In a lot of those videos it is explained and even showed how it can be exploited.
