Places where it would be rude to bring your chess set?

i saw a person brought a chess set to a funeral once.  it was to put inside the casket because the person loved playing chess.

Rowsweep:  a Russian saying is, "After the game, the peices go back in the box."  But how can someone give a throught to death when they look at the life and beauty in your smile?

At least if you take it to a funeral you're guaranteed 1 win.Laughing

I suppose if you were planning to play at a funeral, a ouiji board would be helpful.Laughing

Chess is a lake in which an elephant can bathe or a fly can drink, but don't bring a set on safari.

rowsweep, all work and no (chess) play?  try to have fun every day!  But don't take your set to work...play on-line!

It would depend on the funeral. It wouldn't be a terrible thing to bring a chess set to a chess masters funeral perhaps.... And I would have no problem if someone brought a set to mine.... I want everyone to have a blast and party down at my funeral. Drink up, smoke um if you got um, spark up a doobie if you like, and if you feel like playing some chess that would be awesome. Put on some Zeppelin and have a party in my honor. Much better send off than some sad procession with crying and such.
