I wanna join the tournament, but USD is too expensive for me =\
I am a full time student and I work part time for minimum wage which is less than $8/hour, and I dont find $10 USD to be too expensive whatsoever... especially when considering that it goes to a good cause :)
I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN IN THIS CHARITY TOURNAMENT BUT I HAD ALREADY MORE THAN 10 TOURNAMENTS IN PROGRESS INCLUDING CHESS.COM TOURNAMENT. MAYBE NEXT TIME. BLESSED YOUR HEART GM DAISY AND NORSEMAN FOR HOSTING THIS FUND RAISING TOURNAMENT (GLOBAL CHARITY)
I would also like to join the tournament . . . . but i have too many things going on in school

There is this awesome tournament that is being hosted at chess.com that I wanted everyone to know about. I mean what could be better than playing the game we all love and in doing so promote health and unity on a global level!!! If this interests you I have copied and pasted the information here or you can visit the tournaments page and read all about it. I hope that there are many of you who are as excited about this as I am, thankyou and good luck to all.
Help raise money for those in need and promote global awareness through a charity event on Chess.com sponsored by The House of Staunton.
We hope to bring this Chess.com community closer through the common goal of giving.
There will be prizes offered for the 1st and 2nd place winners of each tournament from Chess.com and The House of Staunton as well as some randomly drawn prizes available for all players entered.
How can I qualify to play?
Players will send a message to the tournament organizer (norseman) including the charity that you will be donating to.
Tournament organizer will maintain a list of contributors. Players who have not donated by the tournament start date will be withdrawn from the event. Please do not register if you do not plan on donating.
Which Charities can I give to?:
Currently selected charities to receive donations for this tournament are: The American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The MS Foundation of Canada, OXFAM, CARE, and The Douglas Macmillan Hospice. There is room for up to 2 more charities – If you would like to sponsor a charity please contact me for further information.
Minimum donation amount is $10 USD.
Prizes? - What can I win?
a) The first place winner of each tournament will be able to select either a $100 USD House of Staunton Gift Certificate or a Six Month Chess Mentor membership.
b) The second place winner of each tournament will recieve the prize that the first place winner did not select.
c) There will also be random drawings for all participants in each tournament as follows: 1-chess.com t-shirt; 1-$10 House of Staunton Gift Certificate; and 1-$20 House of Staunton Gift Certificate.
