I didn't realise when I said "wasn't it a thousand Brits governing your whole country" that I was implying it wasn't with the knowledge and consent of the Queen. I'm well aware that the East India Trading Company initially colonised some or all of India, and was then taken over by the state (not any indigenous states, sadly). So I fail to see any ignorance in what I said at all.

But my point still remains, c. a thousand Brits were employed to govern India, which  isn't very many people. While it can't be argued the British Government was in control of India, I don't think most reasonable people would hold a nation responsible for the acts of their government, not least when it was before most people were even born. I think you're the ignorant one, actually.

When I first joined chess.com I tried to play through Internet Explorer on my phone. Had connectivity problems and lost every game due to time out until I discovered that playing through Google Chrome was what I should have been doing.
