players disconnecting when they loose

I don't understand why some players disconnect the game when they start to seriously loose. Then I am stucked to wait for minutes on the game and that makes me angry.

Ok it says "they may have been subject to blablabla" but they don't care. It is just a game isn't it? And especially in blitz you won't be fighting that long and it is a real learning curve to fight in lost position. Sometimes you may even win because your opponent feels so strong that he can make mistakes in your favor. I guess it is why you have the option to add Friends, I should use that more...

Maybe they will hope you will disconnect and getting an aborted or win match.

Are the effects on my/their rating the same on a disconnect vs resign vs mate?

MonkeyH

Yes and disconnect reports your opponent for "abuse" so he will get banned eventually. Very annoying to wait 5 minutes, why disconnect if you can resign. It makes no sense.

lefouissimo13 blocked me for what!

I can see that lefouissimo13 has been writing in this thread... (a deleted comment) so that is the reason I am commenting it.

I sure know this thread is about a totally different subject, but I seriously cannot take a player serious when he blocks chessplayers without a good reason. Loosing is not a good reason! But obviously lefouissimo13 thought loosing is a fair reason to block me. I never wrote a single word or letter to him, but after he lost against me, then you just blocked me! I suppose he could not stand a beating and blocks chessplayers that can hurt his moderate low rating (and so is my rating too). Seriously!
