Time is a potentially deciding element and each player is entitled to using their time as they see fit. I've had daily play-the-out-to-checkmate games that officially ended a week or more after the game was hopeless for my opponent: like Q + R vs B and clearly no positional tricks available. Maybe because I'm 66 my opponent hoped I'd die of old age before reaching checkmate. If I let it bother me, maybe he would! But, that's his right and who knows, maybe I'll confuse the move order, etc. and blunder away the win.

No. I said that people who drag out their games are often paranoid orifices.
