Players resigning early

I'm a beginner and have only been on chess.com for a few weeks.

One thing I've noticed is that at my Elo level (approaching 300, but hopefully still going up), I win many games by early resignation. It doesn't really make sense to me. It may be that they expect that you literally cannot play or that you'll do blunders in the early moves, and when they realise that you don't, they don't even bother to play.

It's quite often that I get a slightly better position in the first few moves, maybe I get a material advantage, but nothing is set. To which they may offer a draw (ridiculous), I refuse then they resign, or just resign straight away.

Don’t complain, a win is a win. Some people when losing prefer to resign then start a new game rather try to recover from a losing position. You are winning more games than losing. Keep up the good work.
