Playing more accurate

I have been playing chess casually for 10 years or so, and my play is often a bit 'diffuse'.  Major problems are 1) keeping overview of the board 2) planning ahead, visualizing moves, choosing a good plan. Opening lines and spotting tactics aren't that bad. My question is: is there any method to 'drill' keeping view over the board and thinking ahead? It seems that simply just playing a lot of games doesn't really eliminate these problems - or maybe I just suck at chess;P

Kind regards,

having a training partner would be a big help for you ( and most people), as you discuss games you play.

having a bunch of traitors on your side helps, still it can always be glorified as well in the end
