also "snobby geniuses" was a biter way of me saying "people that can kick my ass at chess"

EDIT: and im new to the forum sorry about the otb confusion

They probably wouldn't get too angry about being called geniuses anyway. Is it easy to find a job in Portland?

At this point it sems like jobs are hard to find everywhere.  And I guess with the rising popularity of that 'portlandia' show its kind of effecting pricing and interested in living here.  I love it though, weather is kinda whack though

I guess things are cruddy all over.

Anyone live in Portland OR? Preferably INNER portland?  I am just starting to attemp to make a casual chess meeting.  I love chess but I dont wanna drive all the way to the portland chess club and pay a fee to play with snobby geniuses... Id rather meet at a coffee shop or a bar and have a couple nice casual games with real pieces instead of this OTB stuff.   Let me know! Email me pantry38@gmail.com or join the facebook group I just created : http://www.facebook.com/groups/320351794689517/

There is currently no fee to come to our casual chess on Wednesday nights at the Portland Chess Club (http://pdxchess.org/casual-chess/). Not all the players are "snobby geniuses" either. There are players of many different levels and I am sure you can find good competition.
