Your imput is instructive and interesting. Now that we have seen those  common traps [or potential miniatures] we can give others not so common.

Here's one of my favorites.

My opponent hardly knew how the pieces even moved, but...

here is a basic "trap" in the Taimanov sicilian where f4 is a no-no

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nc6 5.Nc3 a6 6.Be2 Qc7 7.0-0 Nf6 8.f4 Nxd4 9.Qxd4 Bc5 0-1

Im learning Taimanov and I missed this several times but I finally got it today lol

I don't play the Taimanov myself, but I happen to know this one and I think it's a nice one!

This forum should be titled Miniatures 10 moves or less plus Neat Opening Traps.  I think the opening traps are entertaining [and somewhat instructive] 

Highly rated players as well. Just goes to show, you need to know your openings!
