is the position written in German FEN.  You can convert to English by substituting n for s (Springer), b for l (Laufer), P for B (Bauer), p for b, r for t (Turm), N for S and R for T.  In English FEN, therefore the position would be:

kn6/b1Ppp3/PpPpP1p1/1P1prb2/4B1P1/7P/2N3N1/R3K2R

and then you could add "w KQ - 0 1" meaning that it's white to play, white can castle either side, there are no en passants, 0 moves since last pawn move or capture, and this is move 1.

In the solution the D stands for Dame, ie. Queen.

In Arena, you can click on Position - Set up a position, then paste the English FEN string into the FEN window, and click on Load.  WinBoard seems a bit more finicky, so it doesn't seem to work.  You could also try Shredder Classic 2 downloadable from Resources - Downloads on the toolbar at the top of this page.

Hello hello19 why don't you contact Gerd Wilts instead, he knows this kind of stuff. Also it seems maybe this type of retro problems is a bit more than you were bargaining for (it has nothing to do with competitive chess). Softdecc is quite specialized

http://www.softdecc.com/pdb/search.pdb?expression=PROBID=%27P0009000%27&s=0

It's a mate in three with a retro element (i.e. can it be disproven that white can castle kingside or queenside?) this is an incomplete and simplified explanation

Black has underpromoted to bishop on either a1 or h1; in case black promoted on a1, white cannot castle queenside because the rook must have already moved; white starts with 1. O-O and is safe from checks and can play 2. c8=Q and 3. Qb7# next. In case black promoted on h1 white starts 1. O-O-O, with again 2. c8=Q and 3. Qb7#

By the way you are asking for help exporting this to Arena, then I ask why, it won't help anything with the retro aspect of many of the problems, neither will it be able to do anything with the majority of the stipulations

Thanks to rigamagician & heinzie

Actually I am interested in Chess problem position (and solution). That can be loaded in Arena and work out for solution manually. You know, Each time entering position manully is tedious work.So I was looking on net for such FEN or Epd.

PDS has all great features but I can't use it.

Any help (No manual work Please)
