If you are implying that Reb is being greedy or something, I think you have completely misunderstood his point.
He is not saying that he should be winning millions of dollars, he is saying that the way the typical US chess tournament funds it's prize money (entry fees) is inadequate when compared to the way European tournaments typically fund their prizes (sponsers). This makes trying to make a living off chess in the US pretty much impossible, while elsewhere it is easier to do.
