Towards the end of blitz games almost anything can happen in the heat of battle.
Regardless of the level of the players.
Especially if there's a lot of games.
There's going to be lapses in concentration.

You can chomp on 'unhanging' pieces too.
Chomp on an unhanging knight at f6.
'remove the defender' ...
and then checkmate at h7.
One of a big number of ways to 'chomp' on defenders.

I haven't played on this site for a long time -
Had to edit this post.
I thought chess.com resets the rating to 400 but actually what might have happened is that I reset it myself years ago and forgot.
