If the engine sits for long enough in a position like this it will usually come to the correct result (total equality).  You see this sometimes with drawn R+P v R endings, like a Philidor, which is totally drawn, or other fortress type positions.  The side with more material is said to have an edge even if there's no forced win.  As the computer calculates further and realizes the position is drawn, the evaluation usually changes
