Hello friends, I am seeing a lots of QGD matches & encounter that Qc2/Qa4 is vastly use.But I can't understand it properly.Because various reasonable moves also available like e3/g3/h6 etc.Anyone know it?

Qa4 isn't a typical move in any QGD variation I'm aware of. Beginners sometimes play Nf3-e5 with Bb5 and Qa4 to try to win material. This only works if black has played very poorly though. Even if black is not watching for it, this sort of idea rarely works.

Qc2, first of all, is sensible. It's not on the color of the center pawn chain, it indirectly influences the c file (which is often important in QG positions), it influences the center, and it's close to home (can't get chased around by the opponent easily).

It's also flexible, white may use d1 for a rook, or even 0-0-0. White may also play e4.

Mostly it's a general purpose move that doesn't declare white's intentions. Moving either bishop, capturing on d5, or moving the rook (if possible) are all distinct variations. Qc2 is a reasonable move in many different variations.

Very thankful...:)
