What he means it was more of a trade then sacrifice.
that doesn't work at all! What if 27. Rxc6 ? It all falls apart. After 27. Rxd4 white has a rook and the bishop pair against black with one knight. 27. Kg3???? is a horrible move, and thats why he lost.
i though it was an excilent move. He had you pinned nicely, just anther reminder to keep your eyes open for those weird attack lines :D, ty for the post
I dont think there is any need to take the rook on 30. U could still just mate in two if 30. Nf3 then either 31. Ng1# or Ng5# if rook moves to the 1st rank.
That was definitely an unsound sacrifice, and you were lucky that he got flustered by the sacrifice and blundered on move 27. Then again, there was no way that you could have saved the game, against sensible play, at move 25.
27.Bd5 would have retained a large advantage.
Even better, though, was the simple 27.Rxc6. After 27...Rxd4 would come 28.Bxe6+, followed by either a quick checkmate or even more material losses.
