A sweet QSPS:
Congratulations on discovering the excitement of pawn storms. Now for the reality check. A pawn storm was not needed, nor necessary in either game. Your improvememnt will come much faster if you analyze positions based on need, not on what you want to do. Good Luck.

Both positions were already winning for me

Correct and you missed better moves for the sake of unnecessary pawn storms.

In the second game, I pushed my d-pawn to d3 to block the connection between the queen and knight
Men, you don't understand!
It was a queen sac for initiative!
But Bongoman played brilliantly and proved it unsound!

You're funny.
Look at your first comment in this thread and then tell me who was angry. By the way, don't try to hijack this thread too
Edit: Not willing to answer more trash, untracking. It's not my thread and I don't want to help a troll hijack it.
well it's only the angry humourless trolls that block people, not the lighthearted ones.
also it takes a dick to repeatedly post on a members homepage after blocking them. I didn't hijack your thread, I answered your questions, but you do appear to have anger issues.
EDIT: thanks for your repeated stalking of my homepage.
Do you really need to launch a "pawn storm" when the opponent is unaware of the absolute basics?
Notice the "moves" 3...Nh6, 4...f6, 5...Qd7, 7...Na6, and on top of every other move, not accepting your generous piece gift after 8.b3?? b5...
Usually someone learns not blundering away material in one move first, and caring about "pawn storms" much later.
I've recently become obessed with queenside pawn storms. Can someone give any ideas on how to play them?
