Question about Forums?

Good day

I recently formed a Group.  So I do have an Admin capability.  When posting a topic to a Group Forum, depending on where you are looking you will see this?

Group Name on the left, a bit further right you will see home, beside that you will see, delete, lock, stick.

delete I understand, what does lock do? what does stick do?

lock, I think means it will no longer accept comments on that post?

stick, that is my real question?

Another question, depending on the answer to stick?  Is there a way to post a topic in a Group forum and have it remain there constantly, regardless of the number of new posts?

Thanks for your time and help on this matter, I hope that I explained myself well enough to be understood,

That's the sticking! Lock prevents new posts, stickying it means it will always stay at the top of the forum list when you view the group forum - I used this in Poets & Writers to kindof do a thread about "what this group is about" or whatever.

Sticking it means keeping it at the forefront, no chance of it getting buried, unnoticed by new members.

Best of luck to you and your group!

If a topic has stick applied to it, can that later be removed, or is it permanent?

Thanks for your help,

You can definitely un-sticky it if need be.

You just have to use a ton of paint-thinner and nail-polish remover.

never seen either of these, probably cause I'm not an admin of a group... I'll join yours though, Rod. BTW, wouldn't paint thinner and nail-polisher remover be kinda damaging on a computer? ;-j

Oh definitely, but I've been huffing both for the last few hours, so it made sense when I typed it.

Again, thanks for both your comments. This stuff is new to me, I mess up enough in chess, don't want to mess up here with a group, thanks,
