Also interested to know your thoughts on how accurately you feel the Tactics Trainer gauges progression - or perhaps how many points you think you need to raise your proficiency to in order to actually say that there has been significant improvement.
I know that we're not talking about cold hard math = X results all the time. I'm just idly curious in a general sense.
I've been using the Tactics Trainer here for a few days now, and I like it very much.
I have a question about it.
It has been interesting to follow my progress (btw, this is not about the points, but more about the function), as I started by going on a much-varying but steady climb up over 100 rating points, then back down on a similar, varying but steady climb back down 100 points.
Then, there was a virtually identical repeat - about the same amount, up and down.
Currently, I have worked my way back up.
I have noticed that all during this, the rating given to problems I am solving has gone up, significantly.
So it has been interesting to have the same up and down pattern combined with an increase in the strength of the problems. Sounds like a good thing!
But I'm fascinated by how the Trainer judges things, makes adjustments, grades points given on a difficulty/time spent solving ratio, etc...
I would be grateful to anyone who might write a few sentences about the Tactics Trainer's "teaching philosophy". :)
Thanks in advance -
