The most famous example is an albeit old one, but awesome: The Seventh Seal -- a game of chess with Death.

So, I just received a copy of "From Russia with Love," the Bond movie from 1963. Most chess lovers know that there is a key scene where the villian (whose cover is a Grandmaster) plays chess or something. Is this movie any good? How important is chess to the plot?
And furthermore, can you recommend other classic movies with a chess theme or reference to chess? Yeah, and I'm familiar already with "Searching for Bobby Fischer" from 1993. Personally, I thought it sucked donkey d*ck.
Any help would be appreciated.
