Nice bravado, but there isn't anyone currently playing who's capable of taking Magnus in match event. A single game or two? Sure. But a match? No.
Except Nakamura, of course. He would SPANK Carlsen in a match.

This is what Karjakin had to say about his encounter against Magnus Carlsen in a recent interview. (Interview can be found here - https://chess24.com/en/read/news/karjakin-if-carlsen-wants-to-beat-me-he-needs-to-show-the-best-play-of-his-life)
What do you call this? Arrogance? Over ambitiousness?
I call this MARKETING.
At the end of the day, it's all about money. Garry Kasparov

And then he says he has a "better" killer instinct, in that he only tries to win "when it's important?" Who is he to say what a person should try to win? There's not one objectively best lifestyle.
Anyway, it's not even true, Carlsen doesn't have to play the best in his life to beat Karjakin. He could probably even play sub-par (for his standards) and still win. At least Karjakin has the confidence. Maybe that'll help make this a match.
I'd say that Karjakin proved his words with yesterdays game. Carlsen had him in the jaws of death, but Sergey played so strong he found a way to draw. Magnus made a mistake somewhere and lost the edge. He didn't play his best and subsequently didn't win.

Had he been?
I dream. I dream that I beat carlsen the other night when he played anonymously here the other night.... I dream.......
I sincerely hope Carlson beats that arrogant Karjakin. I watched some interviews with Karjakin talking in Russian as well English and he didn't sound arrogant, so I am not happy with his pompous behavior. (I am also biased against Karjakin for other other reasons)
Oh well. When people brag and then happen to lose or otherwise proven wrong that's more satisfying to those who beat them.
Perhaps Carlsen said something bad about Karjakin before?
"I sincerely hope CarlsEn beats that arrogant Karjakin. I watched some interviews with Karjakin talking in Russian as well English and he didn't sound arrogant"
Haven't you just contradicted yourself here?

Not really. He's just saying that's in an interview Karjakin wasn't arrogant so it's a little shocking to see him acting arrogant now.
By the way, when did this arrogance occur anyway? I never caught wind of it. What did he say?
