going over my games move by move (without engine at first) and paying specific attention to moves that- took up much clock, were made too quickly, where i was flummoxed, etc- really pinpointed areas where i was really weak
at the very least i could say “well if this happens again i can try that next time...”
i also started some chess lessons at pretty much the same point you are at and having someone else look at your play can really make learning more efficient
for example, my coach suggested stopping the tactics trainer and implement study on the “causes for tactics to be available in the first place”- he recommended a specific book just for this
Since I started playing chess my rating had been steadily increasing until about 4 months ago. But currently my rapid rating on chess.com has been at right around 1050 basically since January, even though I've been playing a lot and consistently doing tactics and doing some other study as well.
What could be the cause?
Does anyone else have this problem?
