Reaching 2000!

I finally reached 2000 yesterday in 10 minute Rapid! It was interesting how I did it.  About 3 months ago I quit playing Chess.com.  I quit because I couldn't reach 2000 which was all I cared about.  I reached 1987 Elo and then got grinded back down to 1800s.  I was up and over 1900 like a yo-yo lol!  I used to always play late at night on my tablet until 2am in the morning winning and losing until my eyes felt square lol!  One night I had a bad run and lost more games than won and felt like I was playing cheaters and players that never played a bad move.  I was so angry and thought, stuff this I've had enough and decided without much thinking to just delete my account and call it a day!

However, 3 months later I found myself still watching Youtube channels on chess, like the road to 2000 videos that many people post, etc.  and found myself enjoying the content which had an affect on me, making me feel like playing again!  So, I decided to create a new account and thought why not play a few games just to see how many games it would take me to reach about 1800 elo and just to see how much I remember from before I quit playing.

This was 16 days ago, just over 2 weeks! Whilst playing I found myself playing some good chess (better than before) and blowing players off the board and reaching 1800 elo easy after a few days!  Really happy with my progress and couldn't believe it to be honest.  So after a few more days I managed to reach 1900 and holding it, with both winning and losing games and staying at 1900.  This I struggled with before and I was more extreme up and down with the elo progress.

So a few more days later I reached 1950, then grinded back to 1905 up until yesterday.  I decided to have a few games in the morning and managed to play some good chess and got my elo back up to about 1940.  I then had a nap in the afternoon and then decided to have a few more games and maybe push for an increase in elo to something like, 1975.  I played really well and just played game after game and didn't look at the elos of my opponents and just focused hard on the chess and found myself winning most games with ease and playing really well again! And there it was, I played some 2000 rated Indian player who fell for a line in the fried liver attack lol!  I checked my score and it said 1991 elo and winning this game would give me +9 points! I won the game with ease and FINALLY, I reached 2000!  But the most ineteresting thing about me reaching 2000 was how I did it.  So to summarise, I quit playing after 2 years of up and down play then quit for 3 months, then started playing again out of curiosity and creating a new account and only playing 251 games and in 16 days reaching 2000!  Unbelievable!
