Hello!

I understand so, that learning from existing games databases is essential part of becoming good chess player.

I'm having trouble finding good chess program. Not engine. The viewer.

Internet is filled with fake "download now" programs. It's difficult for non-professional to distinguish right one from wrong one. Please, help.

What's the best chess software money could buy?

What about shareware?

Arena seems to be last update in 2015.

I have used Chess King. It is the only chess software (at least that I've found) available for a Mac. Yes, it's also made for PCs. It allows you to set-up custom games, import games and comes with a fairly extensive game data base.

It seems to run really slow, even when playing at lower levels, but otherwise is ok. You can set the level of play on a sliding scale from about 800 to about 2500. (Not sure of the upper level, as I've never set it more than 1900.)

Should be worth checking it out to see if it fits your needs. Good luck.
